چکیده

Purpose: S. pneumoniae ranks as the fourth-most lethal pathogen globally in terms of fatalities associated with or attributable to resistance. In this study, Antimicrobial Testing Leadership and Surveillance (ATLAS) analysis from India aims study overall antimicrobial susceptibility (AMS) among pneumococcal isolates collected between 2018 2021. Methods: Non-duplicate clinically significant were vitro activity antibiotics was assessed against pneumoniae. Susceptibility confirmed at an International Health Management Associates (IHMA) laboratory using supplied broth microdilution panels (Omron Microscan Systems, Inc., Omron Corp., Kyoto, Japan), according Clinical Laboratory Standards Institute (CLSI) guidelines for all antibiotics. Results: Of total 86 non−duplicate Streptococcus tertiary care centers, proportion increased 8.14% (n=7) 43.02% (n=37) 2020. Most (n = 18; 48.65%) age group 31-60 years year Erythromycin revealed a decrease (71.43%) 2020 (16.22%). A decreased 90% recorded levofloxacin Meropenem (85.71%) (35.14%). Penicillin 37.5% 2019 27.03% Clindamycin indicated 100% which then 71.88% 56.76% Linezolid vancomycin found have uniform throughout Conclusion: An increase resistance penicillin macrolides observed Indian population. Addressing elevating rates may require conjugate vaccines (PCVs) expanded serotype coverage targeted stewardship efforts.

Antimicrobial Susceptibility/Resistance of Streptococcus Pneumoniae

INTRODUCTION Pneumococcal infections are a major cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide, whose treatment is threatened with an increase in the number of strains resistant to antibiotic therapy. GOAL The main goal of this research was to investigate the presence of antimicrobial susceptibility/resistance of S. pneumoniae. MATERIAL AND METHODS Taken are swabs of the nose and nasopharynx, ...

Antimicrobial susceptibility and analysis of macrolide resistance genes in Streptococcus pneumoniae isolated in Hamadan

Objective(s): Macrolide resistant Streptococcus pneumoniae pose an emerging problem globally. The aim of this study was to investigate the prevalence of ermB and mefA genes (macrolide resistant genes) by polymerase chain reaction (PCR) method and to detect drug resistance patterns of S. pneumoniae isolated from clinical samples to macrolides and other antibiotic agents by E-test method. Materia...

Macrolide resistance among invasive Streptococcus pneumoniae isolates.

CONTEXT Macrolide antibiotics, including erythromycin, clarithromycin, and azithromycin, are the mainstays of empirical pneumonia therapy. Macrolide resistance among Streptococcus pneumoniae, the most common cause of community-acquired pneumonia, is increasing in the United States. Whether resistance is a significant problem or whether macrolides remain useful for treatment of most resistant st...

Antimicrobial resistance among Streptococcus pneumoniae and Haemophilus influenzae isolates in the United Arab Emirates: 2004-2006.

BACKGROUND Streptococcus pneumoniae and Haemophilus influenzae represent key aetiological agents in respiratory tract infections showing an increasing trend of antimicrobial resistance. We present the first report on the antimicrobial resistance in S. pneumoniae and H. influenzae isolated from patients in the United Arab Emirates. METHODS One hundred S. pneumoniae and 102 H. influenzae strain...

High prevalence of antimicrobial resistance among clinical Streptococcus pneumoniae isolates in Asia (an ANSORP study).

A total of 685 clinical Streptococcus pneumoniae isolates from patients with pneumococcal diseases were collected from 14 centers in 11 Asian countries from January 2000 to June 2001. The in vitro susceptibilities of the isolates to 14 antimicrobial agents were determined by the broth microdilution test. Among the isolates tested, 483 (52.4%) were not susceptible to penicillin, 23% were interme...
